They can also be salvaged using an expert or higher salvage kit to retrieve upgrade components from other items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can take on. The ability to absorb damage of a piece armor will increase when it's upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. But, it's important to note that this will also raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than it was before.
There are item upgrading of armor upgrades available in the game. Each one has a distinct effect. Some upgrades give armor an additional number of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade an item can receive, as shown below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which is shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require a fee to use, and are identified by a "Charges" entry in the table below. item upgrading for these upgrades are updated daily or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the environment and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of certain aspects of a weapon. For example an upgrade could enhance the damage caused by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of a rifle sniper. Some weapons also have special upgrades that enhance their inherent qualities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces the risk of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration for greater damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be obtained by doing side quests, or killing a certain number of monsters or bosses or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee that is a certain number of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.
item upgrades 's still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. It is better to purchase gear with minimal upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These will then have a better chance of bringing you the highest tier perks and blessings.
The majority of players will prioritize upgrades to the weapons they are most likely to use to allow them to progress faster. In addition to these players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons they use with their squadmates to increase their power and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to enhance its effectiveness when paired with biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost a stat or provide secondary effects in weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, where you combine gemstones with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the gemstone has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents are obtained in the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and occasionally by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a jewel can be improved at the Jeweler in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. Based on the tier of the gem, it will provide a different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.
All levels of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a sufficient level to qualify for these. Jewels can be replaced by another one without damaging the original. You can only replace the gem only once in a piece of equipment.
It is typical to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. In addition to enhancing performance, the jewels also create an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so the repeated friction from pivots won't damage them as easily.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades players can also obtain glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These are a small perk and are able to be swapped easily however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis or traits cannot be exchanged, and can only be recovered through an upgrade extractor or salvaging using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets

Trinkets are items of equipment that provide many small, but beneficial advantages to your hero. They can be obtained in the starter areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, or by completing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinkets a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to movement speed and the ability to escape. After that, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in a similar manner to the way a player can acquire armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that remain active whenever the hero is not fighting. This lets the hero be more effective when not active and may also help fill in the void of a solid team or the absence of any slots in the talent tree that normally are filled with the hero's best stats.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats, but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true when an item has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade as it's often better to upgrade a single important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.
In the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their yellow trinket into a red one, while top and middle players usually choose a green or pink ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices will have an impact on a hero's ability to control the map.
Apart from the things mentioned above, players can find a number of other trinkets throughout the game in the form of trophies and awards. They can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For instance, finishing the main quest for a chapter or defeating a boss. These can be viewed by selecting the appropriate achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
